Conductors

In space and astronautical engineering, conductors are materials that allow the flow of electric current. Conductors are essential components in spacecraft and satellites as they are used to transmit power and signals between different parts of the spacecraft. The most commonly used conductors in space and astronautical engineering are copper and aluminum due to their high conductivity and low weight. However, in some cases, other materials such as gold or silver may be used for their superior conductivity. Conductors are also used in the construction of solar panels, which convert sunlight into electrical energy. In this application, conductors are used to transmit the electrical energy generated by the solar cells to the spacecraft's power system.
