Coverage
Coverage refers to the extent to which a particular area or region is covered by a satellite or other spacecraft. In space and astronautical engineering, coverage is a critical factor in determining the effectiveness of a mission or system. The coverage area is determined by the altitude and inclination of the spacecraft's orbit, as well as the size and shape of its field of view. Engineers must carefully design the orbit and field of view to ensure that the spacecraft can provide the desired coverage for its intended purpose. Coverage is particularly important for applications such as remote sensing, Earth observation, and communications, where the spacecraft must be able to observe or communicate with specific areas of interest. In some cases, multiple spacecraft may be used to provide overlapping coverage, or the spacecraft may be maneuvered to adjust its coverage area.
