Krypton
Krypton is a chemical element with the symbol Kr and atomic number 36. It is a colorless, odorless, tasteless noble gas that occurs in trace amounts in the atmosphere. Krypton is used in certain photographic flash lamps for high-speed photography. It is also used in gas mixtures to fill fluorescent lights and as a gas for insulation windows. In the field of astronautics, krypton is used as a propellant for ion thrusters, which are used to propel spacecraft. Krypton is also used in the production of lasers and as a tracer gas for studying air flow.
