Personal Propulsion System

A Personal Propulsion System (PPS) is a device or a set of devices that enable an astronaut or a spacewalker to move and maneuver in space. PPS can be either gas or electric-powered and can be attached to the spacesuit or worn as a backpack. The system can provide thrust in different directions, allowing the astronaut to move forward, backward, up, down, and rotate. PPS is essential for spacewalks, extravehicular activities (EVAs), and other tasks that require mobility in microgravity. The development of PPS has been a significant milestone in space exploration, as it has enabled astronauts to perform complex tasks and repairs outside the spacecraft.
