Power Source

In space and astronautical engineering, a power source refers to any device or system that provides electrical power to spacecraft or space stations. The power source can be either internal or external to the spacecraft. Internal power sources include batteries, fuel cells, and nuclear reactors, while external power sources include solar panels and radioisotope thermoelectric generators. The choice of power source depends on the mission requirements, the duration of the mission, and the power needs of the spacecraft. For example, solar panels are commonly used for missions in the inner solar system, while nuclear reactors are used for missions in the outer solar system where sunlight is scarce. The reliability and efficiency of the power source are critical factors in the success of a space mission.
