Security
Security in space and astronautical engineering refers to the measures taken to protect spacecraft, crew, and ground infrastructure from potential threats such as space debris, radiation, cyber attacks, and physical attacks. Security measures include risk assessment, threat analysis, vulnerability assessment, and the implementation of appropriate countermeasures. These countermeasures may include physical hardening of spacecraft and ground infrastructure, encryption and authentication of communication systems, and the use of radiation shielding materials. In addition, security protocols are put in place to ensure the safety of crew members during launch, in-flight operations, and re-entry. The importance of security in space and astronautical engineering cannot be overstated, as any breach of security could result in catastrophic consequences for both human life and the success of the mission.
