Spacecraft Temperature Control


Spacecraft Temperature Control is the process of maintaining the temperature of a spacecraft and its components within acceptable limits during all phases of a mission. The temperature control system is responsible for managing the heat generated by the spacecraft's equipment and the heat gained or lost through the spacecraft's exterior surface. The system uses a combination of passive and active thermal control techniques, such as insulation, reflective coatings, heaters, radiators, and heat exchangers, to regulate the temperature. The temperature control system is critical for the survival and performance of the spacecraft and its payloads, as extreme temperatures can cause equipment failure, thermal stress, and thermal distortion.
