Supergiant

In space and astronautical engineering, a Supergiant is a massive star that has a diameter more than 100 times that of the Sun and a luminosity over 1,000,000 times greater. These stars are extremely rare and have a short lifespan of only a few million years. Supergiants are important in the study of stellar evolution and the formation of black holes and neutron stars. They are also significant in the study of the chemical evolution of the universe, as they are responsible for the production and distribution of heavy elements. The study of Supergiants is crucial in understanding the life cycle of stars and the evolution of the universe.
