Corrosion
Corrosion is the gradual destruction of materials (usually metals) by chemical and/or electrochemical reaction with their environment. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, corrosion can occur due to exposure to harsh space environment, such as atomic oxygen, solar radiation, and extreme temperatures.
